Theme week: FEAR

So what happens when the Apocalypse occurs and only about 1% of everyone on earth survived. Well, of course, the end of days. Marvel and Steven King team up again with The Stand.

Captain Trips is the first book. It has the origin story of how this deadly virus spread and within months quickly dwindled the US population. With the virus swiftly moving across the country people begin to worry. Military included. Of course, the military created this strain of super flu know as “Project Blue”. As famine and a deathly cause of the sniffles roam; some people find themselves immune. To wander from place to place knowing everyone around you is dead, but also just expecting for someone to jump out from somewhere. Endless paranoia.

In this case the paranoia is well placed. “The Walking Man” is silently looking for the survivors. In some way he’s the devil, but he is definitely mortal, or so I hope. He is looking into the darkness for people like him to end it all. Kind of like a war, except you know, about good and evil. So yes, to start a war of epic proportions.

About the man who brought you Speed Racer

We all know the show, but can anyone remember the person who brought this into our lives. Well he just so happens to also have brought us Battle of the Planets (Science Ninja Team Gatchaman), Robotech,Casshern Sins, and Karas. No one other than Tatsuo Yoshida.

Tatsuo Yoshida is truly an artist of mention. Although, never fully getting recognition through his name in America, he is well know in his home country. This man is considered to be the Walt Disney of Japanese Animation.  Majority of his shows are centered for children, but still he remains accomplishing his own mature animation from time to time.

Power-ball week!

No no… Sadly this is not a lottery contest, but it is something interesting. During this week I will find specific animations that speak on what we consider to be the “human condition”. What I am speaking about, of course, is human emotion. Via buzzle.com, I (they) have a list depicting 6 main emotions. Those are:

  • fear
  • joy
  • love
        • sadness
        • surprise
        • anger

The first of these conditions will Love. Not for any special reason, well… perhaps.

The first time is always awkward…

Hey, what’s up? This is Thomas Allen reporting from the smoking district of the SCAD Atlanta parking deck. For my first post I gonna take it down a notch and tell you a little about me and why I decided to create Looney Logic (LL). This blog is DEDICATED to all things animated. I myself happen to revolve my entire life around animation. Literally. As of now I have written a couple of scripts for Baby D (local Atlanta rapper) and Matt, a producer for NBC Universal.

The idea of creating vast universes and playing God, in a sense, excites and thrills me to no end. Animation is not an art form for me, but the very essence and emotions that drive mankind. In order to understand human culture and ideas that each individual is capable of creating, you must look into each individual. Each character has meaning just as each individual has life.

Only exception in animation is that individual can be ANYTHING. It could be a young girl who had to live through the end of the world, just to wake up in a world filled with trees that fight back to protect the forest. Or even as simple as just cyborg ninjas, flipping about in a way that no human could perform. All in all, this is what animation means to me. And with that said….

Welcome to Looney Logic.
